What is Citizen Science?

Citizen Science is becoming an important component of park-based research. Working with researchers, Citizen Scientists participate directly in data collection and other research activities to assist park managers and scientists in learning about our parks. And just as important, Citizen Scientists gain a greater sense of ownership and appreciation of park natural and cultural resources, while contributing tremendously to scientific understanding. The CMRLC offers a variety of volunteer Citizen Science experiences across several programs.
